We headed to the Carlyle District in Old Town Alexandria for the first Barley & Music Fest. We snapped J.E. Austin Associates' Laya Skinner and her husband, engineer Brandon Skinner, with friend Mike Hanchan.

The event kicked off with a variety of live music from bands, such as Down Wilson, Girl X and Tequila Mockingbird. Here, Realtor.com's Craig Simoneau with Goodwill Industries' Rachel Fishman and CDR Fundraising Group's Brooke Faison.

Several area restaurants also had pop-up locations for the event. We loved the the delicious soul food from Ada’s Kitchen on Wheels. Here, Alexandria friends Nick AitchesonValerie Tyson and David Hastman enjoy the amazing weather and craft beer.
