Bark Ball!

Saturday we went to the 29th annual Bark Ball at the Washington Hilton. The Washington Humane Society and Washington Animal Rescue League hosted DC's only black-tie gala where you can bring your four-legged best friend as your date. We snapped ALPA's Alicia Melvin and Sharon Bhagwandin, Jesse Cornelius, and The Moak Group's Michael Robbins with his dog Skylos.

During the reception, 600 dogs enjoyed a bark bar with Barkley Square gourmet dog treats, a doggie photo booth and water station; 1,000 humans enjoyed an open bar and hors d'oeuvres. Here, College of Veterinary Medicine's David and Jeannie Hodgson with Molly and Gizmo, VOSM's Brittany Carr and her husband, Zac Benson.

The delicious three-course vegetarian dinner had watercress and grapefruit salad, mushroom ravioli sweet potato puree, and a create-your-own banana split with all the fixin's. Here EEI's Owen Schmitt, Jessi Hollis McCarthy, Luisa Gravlin with Gigi, Maria Veiga with Daisy, Stephen Oats with Cooper, and Randy Graham.

All proceeds go to WHS and WARL to help animals find loving homes. Here, Rep. Richard Hanna's Justin Stokes, Paladino and Co's Susie Stokes, Nick Stewart with Otis, and Assn of Global Automakers' Emily Lambe.

Richelle Castillo contributed to this issue.
