Ayenda!

Last night we also went to the Italian Embassy for the 9th annual Ayenda Foundation dinner. We snapped Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, Ayenda founder Shamim Jawad, El Salvador Representative Francisco Esteban Lainez Rivas, and his wife, Monica Rivas.

Alcatel-Lucent’s Marie Royce, Japanese Ambassador’s wife Nobuko Sasae, and Liechtenstein Ambassador Claudia Fritsche. The annual dinner is the primary source of funding for Ayenda Foundation's school in Afghanistan.

The delicious Italian dinner had mushroom risotto and grilled fish sprinkled with white truffle oil. Here, Georgetown’s Daria Etezadi, IRI’s Shamila Kohestani, GWU’s Mina Popal, Khaled Husseini Foundation’s Amy Haines and Richard Marks, US Afghan Womens Council’s Najlaa Abdus-Samad, and American University of Afghanistan’s Annie Culvahouse.

Two expats played traditional Afghan music, performing the Rubab and Tablas. Here, Beasley Real Estate’s Mary Noone and Trent Heminger join TTR Sotheby's International Realty’s Trish Yan and Johnathan Taylor.
