Last night we attended the 27th Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy at the Kennedy Center featuring actor Alec Baldwin and Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
Maureen gave a powerful speech on the importance of federal funding for the arts, which she learned to love from her mother, a working-class DC woman.
