Appetite!

Saturday we went to Appetite: A Gastronomic Experience at Strathmore, with trending food trucks, craft beer garden, and live music. We snapped three of the celebrity chefs: Mussel Bar and Brasserie Beck’s Robert Wiedmaier, Stella Barra Pizzeria's (opening a spot in North Bethesda this year) Jeff Mahin, and Wildwood Kitchen’s Matt Newland. Also cooking: Equinox’s Todd Gray and The Source’s Scott Drewno.

Guests learned about everything from cheese to chocolate and indulged in samples from dozens of local eateries, as many of DC’s most loved chefs shared the foods that made them famous. Here, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Courtney Byrne, Mundo Verde After School Program’s Maria Chafetz, and Pew Charitable Trusts’ Caroline Price.

Live music at the Backyard Theater stage featured the 19th Street Band, Chopteeth, Howlin' at the Moon with Jay Summerour, and Israel and Morris. Here, Celeste Hendrickson and Jeff Ramirez of Denizens Brewing Co, which opened in Silver Spring last month, and DC Brau Brewing Co’s Kassu Debesay.

Alfredo Flores contributed to this issue.
