Last night we also stopped by Georgetown’s The Powerhouse for an Ancient Ales and Archeology happy hour for The Capitol Archeological Institute (CAI). We snapped Mojo’s Max Van Praag, Stevie & Pierre’s Stevie Benanty, Fundrise’s Dan Miller, and CAI’s Justine Benanty.
The fundraiser furthered CAI’s mission to preserve cultural heritage through advocacy. Here, its director Dr. Eric Cline, maritime archeologist and The Titanic’s principal explorer James Delgado, Paulson Institute’s Deborah Lehr, and GW sociocultural anthropologist Stephen Lubkemann.
Guests enjoyed a shipwrecked theme, including beer from Heavy Seas Brewery and keynotes by leading maritime archeologists. Here, Finepoint’s Maria Novick and Whitney Drazovich bookend Washingtonian’s Lauren Joseph and Thirst’s Eric Schulze.
