A Toast to DC!

We went to A Toast to DC at Carnegie Library on Mount Vernon Square, home to the Historical Society of Washington. Hosted by Smithsonian at 8, it celebrated our burgeoning homegrown beer and cocktail scene and distinctive neighborhoods. We snapped Whitman-Walker Health’s Megan Coleman with BIO’s Erin Lee.

Guests tried Atlas Brew Works, Port City Brewing Co, DC Brau, New Columbia Distillers and Catoctin Creek. On display was the newest exhibit, For the Record: Artfully Historic DC, with architectural portraits of Washington sites considered the most endangered by the DC Preservation League. Here, Horizons’ Kate Pfrommer and Amy Seago flank Meg Yee.

Guests could find their neighborhood on a map that covered one of the floors, explore exhibits on a digital scavenger hunt, and dance to music mixed by DJ As-One.
