A Celebration of Caring!

We also went to the 125th Anniversary of the Washington Home & Community Hospices for Celebrazione della Cura, A Celebration of Caring cocktail party at the Embassy of Italy. We snapped (top) its CEO Tim Cox, DCCAH’s Judith Terra, (bottom) DuPlain Enterprises’ Jan DuPlain, and UNESCO Ambassador Esther Coopersmith.

The embassy was transformed to an elegant Italian Market complete with mini shops selling cashmere scarves, Italian ties, and jewelry imported from Italy. Guests partook in pizza-making and wine tastings and enjoyed the Italian supper buffet, with sea bass puttanesca, chicken marsala, and gorgonzola calzone. The plentiful dessert had limoncello cake pops, Italian flag mousses and gelatos. Here, Eye Assoc’s Dr. Frank Ashburn and his wife Susan, and Washington Home chair Sharon Collins Casey.

Before departing, everyone was given coins to throw into the “Trevi Fountain” while making a wish, as they do in Rome. Proceeds support the Home’s important healthcare services for the aging and terminally ill patients.
