2239 BBQ!

We went to 2239's annual BBQ at the Washington Hebrew Congregation. We snapped National Legal Aid & Defender Association’s David Kessler, World Duty Free Group’s Yaffa Wagschal, and fed worker Derika Weddington.

100 Jewish young professionals enjoyed burgers, kosher hot dogs, veggie burgers, salad, and Blue Moon and Yuengling beer. Here, Federal Reserve Board’s Gary Rubin, cybersecurity engineer Alexander Rich, Dept of Agriculture Presidential Management Fellow Karen Biala, and DC Dept of Transportation civil engineer Andrew Kaufmann.

2239's network includes over 2,600 young Jewish adults between the ages of 22 and 39 and offers opportunities for them to meet and deepen their Jewish identity. Its Metro Minyan Shabbat meets on the fourth Friday of every month at different Metro-accessible locations. 2239, with the help of the TOV Fund, engages in cutting-edge social action projects to help people in need. It also hosts happy hours, baseball outings, wine tasting, the annual Purim Ball and a Passover Seder.
