A new boutique hotel, the Hyatt Place, is opening on K Street, and Reed Smith partner and new markets tax credit group chair Olivia Shay-Byrne did the real estate-related legal work on the deal. Olivia tells us the upscale hotel is located in a converted office building. The news has been tightly under wraps for the last year and a half. Olivia's other ongoing projects include: working with the owners of properties selling a block in Union Market, public private partnership transactions, and—with interests rates at a low—numerous refinancings.
