Record Amount Raised for Legal Services

We just heard that Whitman-Walker Health's legal services department got its largest ever fundraising boost from this year's Going the Extra Mile benefit at Long View Gallery. The nonprofit raised more than $265k. Director of legal services Amy Nelson says it's not just about the funds: "It’s also the hundreds of lawyers who continue to offer their time as volunteers that truly makes it possible for us to provide critical legal assistance to 2,500 people each year. The work of Whitman-Walker’s legal services team is proof positive of the power of the legal community working together to save lives.”
