Patent Litigator Revisits His College Hoops Days

Before Sterne Kessler's Jonathan Tuminaro was a lawyer or had a Ph.D. in physics, he was a college basketball player. The patent litigator recently returned to his alma mater, Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, for a 20th anniversary celebrating his basketball team's appearance in the NCAA tournament as the MAAC champs.

At a banquet, he caught up with former coach John Beilein, now head coach for the University of Michigan.

It's not a basketball reunion without some time on the court. Here, Canisius College president John Hurley greets Jonathan during a halftime ceremony.

The former Golden Griffins teammates later lined for a group photo.

Back in the office, Jonathan's handling a number of offensive and defensive inter partes reviews before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board for a graphics-processing company.
