MALDEF at 45

Last night at the Mayflower Renaissance, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund celebrated its 45th anniversary at its annual gala. We snapped keynote and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack with Dr. Leo Estrada.

Retired US District Court Judge Ricardo Urbina, here with his wife Coreen, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

MALDEF president and GC Thomas Saenz heads one of the country's top Latino legal civil rights organizations; we snapped him catching up with Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights CEO Wade Henderson.

We also spotted Hispanic National Bar Association local president Juan Semptertegui, Hispanic Bar Association of DC past president William Rivera, current president Fernando Rivero, and MALDEF DC office head James Ferg-Cadima.
