Last Night's Rooftop Celebration with LSIC

Last night on Jones Day's rooftop terrace, Law Students in Court held its annual Celebration of Service. This year it honored Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights executive director of 44 years Rod Boggs and Superior Court of DC Magistrate Judge Rainey Brandt. We snapped Rod, center, with Wiley Rein pro bono partner Ted Howard and Zuckerman Spaeder founding partner William Taylor.

LSIC gives legal assistance to low-income DC residents. Honoree of the evening Magistrate Judge Rainey Brandt, right, became a lawyer after picking up a PhD from American University. She's with Harris Wiltshire partner Pat O'Donnell.

Armed with cocktails, empanadas and selfie-sticks (handed around by LSIC), guests enjoyed the view from the terrace. DC Attorney General Karl Racine caught up with with Harden & Pinckney managing partner and JusticeAid board member Brandi Harden.

Retired DC Superior Court Judge Stephen Milliken, left, is an LSIC alum and the founder and CEO of JusticeAid. We spotted him with DC Superior Court Judge Gerald Fisher.

This year marks LSIC's 46th graduating class. We snapped executive director Moses Cook, second from right, flanked by Crowell & Moring international dispute resolution group co-chair George Ruttinger, Zampogna PC owner and Bar Association of DC president Christopher Zampogna, and ABA lawyer Jonathan Gitlen. Moses tells us that each year, LSIC students contribute 30,000 pro bono hours.
