Karen Litsinger is the SVP, Corporate Development, and General Counsel of Mirixa. She leads the health IT company's legal, compliance, privacy and corporate development teams. Her work ranges from general business counseling and tracking the industry to managing HIPAA privacy issues and CMS compliance, as Mirixa deals with millions of patient records. (More than 8.5 million people are served by Mirixa programs.) Clients include some of the largest players in healthcare. Karen joined the company in 2008, combining her technology and healthcare backgrounds after time heading a 30-member team as a VP at AOL and as a partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. She recently spent nearly 18 months as the company's interim CEO.

What you didn't know about Karen:

  • Her favorite destination is Hawaii, especially Kauai's North Shore. She also loves New Zealand (pictured here).

  • She was born, and has always lived, in Montgomery County, MD.

  • With a 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter, Karen often finds herself painting watercolors, driving around to construction sites and watching Peppa Pig.
