Derek Kung is VP and General Counsel of MedAssist, a company that provides revenue cycle management solutions to more than 700 US hospitals and health systems. He joined in 2013 after time at Williams Mullen and serving as general counsel for a clinical laboratory. This week, MedAssist launched a technology suite that streamlines both front-end patient experience and back-end revenue-cycle management to improve providers' net patient revenue. Derek helps address new challenges hospitals face, partly created by ACA, such as a changing payer mix and complex reimbursement structures.
