DC Raises Minimum Wage To $15

On Monday, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser signed off on an act raising the District's minimum wage to $15 by 2020, a significant jump from the current $10.50 wage. NY and CA state lawmakers have also agreed to implement a $15 minimum.

President Obama released a statement commending Mayor Bowser and the DC Council for raising the minimum wage, adding that "Since my first call to raise the wage in 2013, 18 states and DC have taken action," impacting more than 7 million Americans.
