To get you into the holiday spirit before you duck out of the office today, here are a couple snapshots from Baker Botts' recent reception atop 30 Rock (sadly, Tina Fey was not in attendance--but James Baker was!). We're wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Here's Baker, the former Secretary of State and senior partner. His great-grandfather started the firm and his grandfather and father were partners, as is his son. James headed State under Bush 41 (traveling to 90 countries), was Treasury Secretary and White House Chief of Staff under Reagan, and Undersecretary of Commerce for Ford. President Obama handed out Medals of Freedom a couple of days ago, but James got his own back in '91. Speaking of family connections, James has eight children and 18 grandchildren, so he'll probably have a full table for the festivities tomorrow.

The evening's emcee was Baker Botts managing partner Andy Baker, right (no relation to James). He's with partner Alex Bourelly, NY partner-in-charge Robert Scheinfeld and Dallas partner-in-charge Patricia Stanton. The firm recently got a lot of press for representing Halliburton in its $34.6B combination with Baker Hughes. More than 35 lawyers from 700-lawyer Baker Botts helped on the transaction.
