DC's largest 10K race is turning 25, and its founders are reuniting at the helm. Welcome back Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Matz founder and senior principal Richard Frank and Sidley Austin partner Alan Charles Raul.

Lawyers Have Heart's 25th annual run will take place on June 13 with a brand-new course. Founded in '91 as a way the DC legal community could unite in support of the American Heart Association, it has raised more than $9.6M. Richard says the run "is a unifying cause for our firms in the region. Stress affects all of us and that can lead to high blood pressure, or worse, a heart attack. This race...drives home the point that the legal community cares about its people and cares about working to eradicate heart disease and stroke. No other city in the country has stepped forward the way DC has and we should be so proud of that." The first-ever LHH celebratory dinner in honor of the 25th anniversary welcomed Justice Samuel Alito as keynote last year in the Anderson House of the Society of the Cincinnati.

In 2014, 5,570 runners from more than 230 firms and organizations ran in the Lawyers Have Heart 10K Race, 5K Run and Fun Walk. Wiley Rein's team is pictured above in Georgetown. "For the 25th year, Alan and I wanted to head this up once again because this was a labor of love when we started it," says Richard. "To see it grow into what it has become is tremendous and I challenge any firm out there to tell me why they wouldn’t want to sign up." So far this year, the event has raised more than $674K, with a goal of $1M.
