Spike's Empire Expands

We paid a visit to Good Stuff Eatery in Crystal City--its third location, after the Hill and Georgetown. Owner Spike Mendelsohn's empire is growing: he's taking Good Stuff on the road, opening in Philly and Chicago soon. He's also opening a second We the Pizza in Crystal City with the help of David Greenberg (above, with his dad Larry), who have been helping Spike with the expansion. David tells us the Crystal City area has blown away all expectations--they're jammed weekdays at lunchtime, and especially on Saturdays. It doesn't hurt that the FLOTUS paid them a visit soon after their May 2012 opening. Among the shop's most popular offerings are the smokehouse burger and toasted marshmallow milkshakes.
