This week, Mike Isabella announced that Richmond, Va. will be the site of the second location of his popular Italian restaurant Graffiato. Why Richmond? Mike explains that he wants to expand his empire into markets that are driving distance from DC. Also, he has a bunch of culinary friends who have been planting the Richmond bug in his ear over the past few years; some own restaurants down there, and others are just big fans of its burgeoning dining scene. Mike tells us that when he visited, he was immediately hooked on the place. The menu at the new Graffiato, which opens this spring, will be 50% to 60% the same; the rest will focus on produce and products from the Richmond area.
