A basket of fresh strawberries on the nose is exactly what you get with Early Mountain Vineyard's 2014 Rosé. The blend of Merlot, Malbec, Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc and Syrah is one of the wineries’ spring releases. A trip to Early Mountain, owned by AOL founders Jean and Steve Case, also means a taste of two Pinot Gris, a Chardonnay, and a blend of Petit Manseng and Muscat called “Block Eleven.” General Manager Dave Kostelnik tells us Petit Manseng could overtake Viogner as Virginia’s most expressive varietal.
