Any cloud service provider wanting to do work for the government should knowthese guys. Alexandria, Va.-based SecureInfo is one of 16 companies able to certify that providers are meeting FedRAMP's stringent standards. So far only two companies have passed FedRAMP's muster since last July. One of the them was Fairfax, Va.-based CGI Federal, which worked with SecureInfo since October to get the validation. But SVP Chris Fountain and CTO Yong-Gon Chon say 80 more cloud-based solutions are in the queue to meet FedRAMP's standards. The process is long, with nearly 300 controls ranging from password strength to contingency plans.

SecureInfo, a Kratos division, is also able to help the provider through the continuous audits that FedRamp requires. It's been in the cybersecurity business since 2000, with customers like Microsoft and Amazon Web Services that had to meet NIST risk management measures before FedRAMP came along. The company helped Microsoft get certified to provide federal e-mail services in the cloud. Chris says the company will grow 20% in head count this year, hiring subject matter experts who understand some of the more technical measures behind security standards and how they apply to cloud computing and traditional computing models.
