VC Headed To $1B in DC Investments

DC and Baltimore area companies raised $284M in Q3, up $257M from this time last year, according to the latest MoneyTree report put out by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. The data shows the region is on pace to do over $1B in venture funding in 2015. At least $80M went to locally owned restaurants Sweetgreen and Cava Grill. Nationally, VCs invested $16.3B in over 1,000 deals, down 5% in dollars and down 11% for number of deals compared to Q2. [WBJ]
