TechBUZZ's Next Round of Hopefuls

Shana Lawlor is one of 16 entrepreneurs chosen to pitch at TechBUZZ next month at AOL. The twice-annual event put on by MAVA allows entrepreneurs four minutes with a roomful of investors. Since TechBUZZ’s launch in 2011, presenting companies have raised over $200M. Shana’s company, YOPP, is a mobile, social, local shopping social network. The other companies represent a range of industries, including: Athena Power, which developed a sensor to find underground issues related to utilities; DaoCloud, a social wellness network where people crowdsource wellness solutions; and Jewelbots, which developed wearable jewelry for young girls that communicates over a wireless mesh network and introduces them to STEM.
