DC-based SnobSwap.com raised a seed round of over $1M from NextLevel Management, Dingman Angels, Simple Pitch, and several angel investors, including the founder of simplehuman. Co-founder Elise Whang, pictured with her team, says the money will be go toward expanding the service, which aggregates pre-owned luxury items (think Saint Laurent and Chanel) sold in brick and mortar consignment shops and sells them in an online mall. The company says the consignment market is a $13B industry. SnobSwap, which was one of the businesses featured in the Startupland documentary, recently moved to the DC Chamber of Commerce’s shared offices downtown.
