Champagne bottles must have been popping over at Northrop Grumman after the behemoth got word that it won the $21.4B DOD contract to build the next-generation long-range strike bomber. The Falls Church-based company, which already makes the B-2 bomber, beat out Boeing and Lockheed Martin. It marks the biggest contract out of the Pentagon in over a decade and has the potential to reach $80B if the Air Force buys all 100 bombers, reports the New York Times. CEO Wesley Bush says his team has resources in place to “execute this important program, and we’re ready to get to work.” [NYT]
