Message Systems Goes Live

Message Systems CEO Phillip Merrick (here with his wife and webMethods co-founder Caren) looks tanned and relaxed on a recent Caribbean sailing trip, but his company (based in San Fran and Columbia, MD) has been hard at work getting SparkPost ready for this week's public release. The email delivery service has been in beta since October, wooing clients like Pinterest, Zillow, Iterable, Circonus, Movoto and (in full disclosure) Bisnow. The product allows companies to integrate pay-as-you-go email delivery into their web and mobile apps. Phillip says the product is ideal for any company that uses email communication to build its audience. The company now collectively sends over 3 trillion emails a year. (Just a few less than our grandma forwards us.) The company has raised a total of $65M in outside funding.
