Federal CIOs don't have enough money to modernize federal government IT, and sequestration is the easiest but least effective way to control costs. That's according to the latest TechAmerica/ Grant Thornton survey of 41 federal CIOs and other IT officials. Sequestration and continuing resolutions leave the ground shaky, says TechAmerica global public sector SVP Trey Hodgkins. Other findings: CIOs still think the IT acquisition system is broken. Also, cybersecurity talent remains elusive and federal IT employees are choosing to retire over continuing to work without pay raises.
