Canvas Raises $4M

Mobile app maker Canvas raised $4M in Series C funding from Osage Venture Partners and existing investors like Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. The Reston, Va., company will use the money to expand its products, get into more global markets, and speed up use of its personal data cloud product. Canvas has carved out a niche in replacing paper forms with customizable mobile business apps for most smartphones and tablets. CEO James Quigley says the mobile app market will reach $98B by 2018. So getting 1% market share wouldn't be so bad in this situation.
