We're using today to celebrate everyone's office prankster. Here are stories from DC area techies on how they've tricked their unsuspecting office mates.
Compusearch's David Supley Foxworth re-enacted The Grinch Who Stole Christmas as part of an office decorating contest. He decorated his own cubicle and several others as the Village of Whoville. The weekend before judging, David and his wife removed all the decorations and posted "security camera video" of the Grinch doing his dirty work on YouTube. Co-workers were outraged that the elaborate decorations had been vandalized, but they were miraculously returned at the end of the contest.
High school came back to haunt IPNS numbers guru Holly Hidalgo. Her former Lake Braddock Secondary School classmate and IPNS colleague made regular promises to bring in yearbook photos. One day, he delivered. A quick visit to Shutterfly and a week later there were coffee mugs, mouse pads, and free stickers of young Holly in the '90s. Thanks to SVP Aaron Tilock for sharing the story.
One of our readers told us he filled his boss’ office up to the ceiling with hundreds of balloons in the evening and closed the door. In the morning, she was perplexed as colleagues lingered with their coffees in front of her closed door, waiting for the show. She ended up enjoying popping all the balloons and he kept his job.
