Atlantic Realty is building a senior living community just south of Reston National Golf Course.
The developer, in partnership with AEW Capital Management and IntegraCare, is starting construction next week on Hunters Woods at Trails Edge, a 210-unit development. Avison Young senior housing expert Jim Kornick helped put together the deal.
The $72M, 230K SF project will be built on a 4.3-acre site at 2222 Colts Neck Road in Reston, the former home of United Christian Parish Church. It sits across the street from a Safeway-anchored retail plaza, Hunters Woods Village Center, which also includes Reston Community Center.
Demolition has begun on the existing building, and the development is expected to deliver by January 2019. It will include 90 independent living units, 81 assisted living, 15 special needs and 24 memory-care units. Twenty percent of the independent units will be set aside as affordable. The community will also feature an arts studio, a barber shop, a salon and a fitness center.
