Shopping Center In Silver Spring

HerbiFi

HerbiFi, a new medical marijuana dispensary, is coming to downtown Silver Spring in May, according to Bethesda Magazine. HerbiFi will set up shop at 8413 Ramsey Ave. next to the Silver Spring Transit Center.

HerbiFi is the second medical marijuana dispensary to enter the area. RISE Silver Spring opened in December.

Truebody Fitness Center

Washington, D.C., holds the title of fittest city in America, and Montgomery County has shown its own commitment to keeping residents active. A Truebody Fitness recently opened in the former Bethesda Post Office building. Located at the corner of Montgomery Lane and Wisconsin Avenue, the 80-year-old building now boasts a 15K SF gym with eight studios, rooftop yoga, a courtyard for outdoor classes and a meditation area.

“I wanted to do something that was unique and something that was more member-focused and more personalized," Truebody General Manager Robert Sherman said to Bethesda Magazine. "And yet at the same time offer a wide variety of classes that small studios don’t do but also offer a more personalized service that health clubs don’t do."

The building’s interior has been modernized to reflect the gym’s design goals, but the building’s historic exterior will remain mostly the same. Sherman hopes the club will become a community hub to Bethesda, just as the post office once was.

Bubble tea chain Gong Cha opened at 1800 Rockville Pike in the Galvan at Twinbrook complex. While Montgomery County is home to other bubble tea shops, this is the first Gong Cha in the area. The chain began in Taiwan in 2006, and now has 20 shops in the U.S., most of which are in New York City.
