Last night, we dropped by ABM's client appreciation party at the Sun Ballroom, where we snapped the firm's Bob Swanger, Bruce Phibbs, Joyce Donkor, Cary Bainbridge, Brett Knox, Christie Campbell, prez Mike Latham, and Rick Wilson, who enjoyed the opportunity to have face time with clients—which include CBRE, Transwestern, JLL, Behringer Harvard, Arden, and others—all in one spot. Their services (janitorial, engineering, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, parking, security, and more) covers a portfolio of 400M SF.

BOMA/Utah exec director Shelli Menegos, Property Reserve’s Bruce Clayton, and Lorrie Ostlin took advantage of the costumed photo booth. (This is exactly what Joseph Niepce had in mind when he invented the photograph.) Shelli tells us they’re having this much fun every day—her team just formed a sustainability committee, is supporting Salt Lake City’s mayor with his Project Skyline (focused on office energy efficiency), and is helping Gov. Gary Herbert with his 10-year energy sustainability plan.

Repping BOMA/Spokane—aka "Henry Chamberlain's fan club"—were Kiemle & Hagood's Doug Dittamore (the local org's president elect), CEO Larry Soehren ('02-'03 BOMA chair-turned-fellow), and Gordon Hester; Unico's Ron White (the local org's prez); association exec Lisa Quigley; and Avista's Doug Kelley. If you don't think we're serious about these fans, rumor has it that Larry has a special suite for Henry in his house. Or maybe they're just trying to butter him up and convince BOMA to hold one its future Every Building Conferences in Lilac City. "It's 83 degrees and no humidity right now," Larry says.

Take note of these smiling faces—you’ll probably see a lot of ABM Phoenix’s Toni Covington and BOMA/Phoenix’s Mark Covington in January and February. The city is hosting BOMA’s Winter Business Meeting, the Pro Bowl, the Super Bowl, and the Phoenix Open all in the matter of weeks. (If you ever wanted to photobomb a TV camera, there will never be a better chance.) Real estate is booming, too; Mark says there’s a lot of major medical being built Downtown, and Tempe Lake is getting lots of condos and office. Even satellite areas like Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert have big projects in the ground.
