The future of Dupont Circle's long dormant underground trolley station could have a blueprint in New York City. A development group in Manhattan has proposed building an underground park in a closed trolley station below the Lower East Side. UrbanTurf writes that the Dupont Underground could use the underground version of the Highline as a paragon for the area that's been essentially empty since the '60s. While the Arts Council for the Dupont Underground has visions for a microhotel or high-end arts storage space, the solar technology planned for Lowline could provide another avenue. No official decision has been made on the future of the Dupont Underground, but it could start to be used as a small event space this summer. [UT]
