Thursday night we went to the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club for the Suburban Hospital Showcase Gala to support its world-class Neuroscience Program, which annually serves 2,500 patients. There was a Roaring '20s theme, cocktails and food stations, a jazz band, a freakishly accurate mentalist, and a great live auction. We snapped Sister Cities CEO Mary Kane, who’s been on the hospital’s board many years, and told a moving story of how she was paralyzed by a stroke nine years ago, and Suburban saved her. She’s flanked by the hospital's president, Dr. Gene Green, and her gala co-chair, Rolyn prez Mark Futrovsky. Over 350 came out and raised almost half a million.
