Nonprofit Vet Heads To Science Society

The Society for Science & the Public hired veteran nonprofit leader Maya Ajmera as its new CEO and publisher of the Science News family of media properties. She’s well known for launching the Global Fund for Children in 1993. The nonprofit invests private philanthropic capital in organizations working with vulnerable children and youth. She’ll now be running a DC-based nonprofit membership organization that owns and runs large science competitions for high school and middle school students and publishes science-focused publications.
