Association Innovators Party: Part II

American Council on Education VP, CIO and honoree Kara Freeman came with her significant other, Ron Lee, who became her fiancé later that same night. (Congrats to Kara and Ron!) Kara is in charge of ACE’s tech strategy and building and tenant management.

This winning trio included Association for Managers of Innovation founder and board chair Stan Gryskiewicz, Association of American Medical Colleges strategy and innovation senior director Bill Mallon, and American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography innovation manager Elizabeth Langston.

BOMA International president/COO Henry Chamberlain (middle, purple tie) brought colleagues and friends to help celebrate his award. Henry says he’s most proud of the organization’s 7-Point Challenge launched in 2007 to drive down energy usage in commercial buildings. The team includes BOMA International chair and managing principal of Oliver & Co John Oliver, SVP Pat Areno, executive services director Ann Coslett, marketing and international affairs VP Lisa Prats, Corporate Sustainability Strategies president/CEO (and past BOMA International chair) Brenna Walraven, and Consumer Healthcare Products Association finance and operations VP/CFO Brian Green.

National Cable & Telecommunications Association administrative & audio visual services VP and honoree Susan Carlin brought “her heart and soul.” They are Carlin Corle and Richard Kemp. Among Susan’s responsibilities is overseeing NCTA’s 105-seat THX-certified theater.

National Beer Wholesalers Association’s Kim McKinnish and Celeste Powers flank NBWA communications guru and honoree Rebecca Spicer. She’s a former broadcaster and White House staffer, who launched NBWA-TV to help tell member stories and an advocacy app to help members talk to legislators.

Big thanks to Crystal City BID and Vornado for hosting this great event. And thanks to Cresa, CWPS, HighRoad Solutions, The Moery Co and ASAE for helping us put it on.
