Earlier this month, we told you about Spring2ACTion, a 24-hour fundraising event in Alexandria, Va., that set a $1M goal. ACT for Alexandria, the community foundation that organizes the annual event, reported that the goal was exceeded by over $31k. The money, raised by over 7,500 people, will go toward 121 Alexandria nonprofits. This team from Carpenter’s Shelter won the top Free Agent Fundraising prize for getting 340 people to give money during the 24-hour period. The participating nonprofits came from a wide mix of causes, from animal rescue to providing scholarships for summer camp.
