| They may be the daughters of prominent men in development, but The Durst Org VP Helena Durst, Silverstein Properties SVP Lisa Silverstein, and Mall Properties COO Andrea Olshan’s favorite question at last Thursday’s NYCREW “Women Leading New York’s Prominent Real Estate Families” event didn’t concern their business or famous fathers. Instead, it was what they learned from their mothers. “My family is famous for being quiet,” says Lisa, who credits her mother for giving her the instinct to talk. Helena says that her mother’s teaching of manners was key: “It goes beyond the table. This is very much a relationship business and my mother taught me to respect people.” Andrea says her mother sees the big picture. “To have this blessing of a parent, I feel like I can handle anything,” she adds.
