In the mood to build a game? Now there’s a place in the DC region to do it. The Simulation and Gaming Institute at George Mason University opened its doors yesterday. (That’s the director, Scott Martin, wielding the gigantic scissors. For all its weaponry, Super Mario never had those.) As we reported a few weeks ago, SGI will incubate startups in the $80B simulation, modeling, and game industry. The institute, housed on GMU's Prince William campus, has 4,000 SF of dedicated offices, studios, research space, and a product development lab. Five companies have already joined the incubator: Bruxe Studios, Little Arms Studio, Zaah on Campus, ProfessionsQuest, and MediaShock.
