Survey Says: GSE Reduction is OK

65% of you think the multifamily industry will continue to thrive despite Fannie and Freddies dictated 10% cutback. Many surveyed said the agencies will hardly be missed among the influx of investors into the sector. Here are some of your responses:

With the comeback of other debt sources, the volume of deals the GSEs were going to win was going to decrease anyway by at least 10%.

10% less on a record year for multifamily lending will go unnoticed as non-agency lenders enter the fold.

Theres plenty of debt capital in the market, so a reduction in GSE lending won't harm the overall market, but will provide more opportunities for banks, life companies, and CMBS to finance multifamily.
