Penny Pritzker’s share of the Pritzker fortune — built on the Hyatt hotel brand — largely takes the form of her ownership of 7% of the company’s stock. Members of her immediate and extended family have tended to do noteworthy things with their piece of the Pritzker pie, and Penny is no exception.

She is the founder of private investment firm PSP Capital Partners and its affiliate, Pritzker Realty Group. She also co-founded D.C.-based Artemis Real Estate, which manages a roughly $2B portfolio.

A longtime friend of the Obama family, she served as President Barack Obama’s commerce secretary. She has competed in several triathlons, including an Ironman. — Scott Klocksin
