Daryl Katz owns the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, and also led the development effort for the team’s new arena, Rogers Place. The new facility is surrounded by cranes for the time being, but they will eventually give way to the Edmonton Arena District, which will be Canada’s largest mixed-use sports and entertainment district when complete, encompassing two office towers, a 50K SF public plaza, a hotel, a casino and a movie theater. — Scott Klocksin
