The father-and-son team of Bob and Tom Gaglardi control one of Canada’s largest fortunes. Their Northland Properties owns and operates hospitality assets that include the Sandman and Sutton Place hotels as well as the Revestoke Ski Resort in British Columbia. Their restaurant interests include Denny’s and Moxie’s, which recently launched outside of Canada for the first time — fittingly, in Dallas, where the duo spends a lot of time as the owners of the NHL’s Dallas Stars. Bob orchestrated the 2011 purchase of the team. — Scott Klocksin
