Shoreline Gateway In Long Beach

The tallest building in Long Beach will soon rise in the city’s downtown.

A JV of Ledcor Properties and Anderson Pacific, along with their equity partners Qualico and Lantower Residential, broke ground broke ground last week on the Shoreline Gateway, a 35-story mixed-use luxury apartment tower with ground-floor commercial space. The tower will boast views of downtown Long Beach, parts of Orange County, the Pacific Ocean and the Port of Long Beach.

“This tower will be the tallest building in Long Beach and will add an icon to our skyline,” said Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia in a news release. “We’ve been waiting for this project and excited that it will bring over 300 new homes to Long Beach.”

Scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021, Shoreline Gateway at the corner of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue will feature 315 ultra-luxury residential apartments, 6,460 SF of ground-level commercial space, five levels of subterranean parking, a rooftop pool, a spa, dining and an entertainment deck.

The property complements the JV’s adjacent property called The Current. The 17-story, 200-unit apartment building will share a 10K SF plaza and connect to the Shoreline Gateway. The Current opened in 2016.

“This project is a beaming testament to the progress of our downtown development plan,” Long Beach council member Jeannine Pearce said. “The new housing opportunities and the new businesses along with a booming 10K SF plaza for our larger community will continue to reinvigorate Long Beach as a gem beach city while further advancing our beautiful city skyline.”

The Shoreline Gateway design team includes Studio One Eleven, Carrier Johnson + Culture, RELM, Englekirk and C&V Consulting. Build Group is the general contractor.
