The La Mirada City Council last week overlooked citizen concerns about a two-story condominium project proposed for a 2.7-acre site at 12000 La Mirada Blvd and voted 4-1 in favor of it.
The one dissenting vote was by Councilman Andrew Sarega, who expressed a concern about cars from the condo project having to make a difficult left-hand turn onto La Mirada, and also commented that he didn’t like the idea of adding condos to a city founded on single-family homes, reports the Pasadena Star.
Resident Phillip Norman Anderson argued the project doesn't fit the neighborhood, pointing out that there are no other $700k Mediterranean-style homes there. He noted that homes in the area are modest, typically selling for about $450k. [PS]
