A proposed mixed-use project, known as the Premier on First, would bring retail and office space or a hotel to downtown Burbank.

The project would be built on a 1.8-acre site at the corner of First Street and Verdugo Avenue, Urbanize LA reports.

Property owner Cusumano Real Estate Group proposes a two-building project up to 14 stories each. Daniel Chudnovsky of A.I.A. Architects is the designer.

The project would be built in two phases. The first phase would include a 154-unit apartment building and nearly 10K SF of ground-floor retail space. Depending on the plan selected, the second phase would include a hotel or offices in the second tower.

If the mixed-use project is approved by the City of Burbank, the initial phase of the project would break ground in mid-2018 and open by late 2019.

Construction on the second phase could follow in early 2020 with a completion date of 2022.
