The nonprofit LAMP Community hopes to build an 82-unit apartment building in DTLA. The organization filed plans for the project last week.
The goal is to tear down a 50-unit, roughly century-old building at 660 South Stanford Ave. and replace it with a six-story one, The Real Deal reports. The property has not traded hands in 27 years.
The filing comes just before Tuesday's vote on Measure S, which would place a two-year moratorium on big developments, banning most spot zoning. It would also restrict LA's ability to grant general plan amendments.
While variances would be allowed for affordable housing developments like this one, developers would still be restricted from pursuing a general plan amendment that the developer of this project is requesting, Urbanize LA reports.
