The U.s. Embassy At Grosvenor Square, London.
The American Embassy site at 24-31 Grosvenor Square received planning permission to start the transformation from US diplomatic mission to 137-room hotel and mixed-use destination. The new development will include retail, restaurants, and leisure and spa facilities.
The City Council asked that the owners remove the security features, such as the security kiosks and bollards around the embassy, as soon as possible to open up traffic around the Square.
Work on the project will include adding a new sixth floor, two additional basement levels and public realm works. Additionally, the owners will have to remove the inscribed name of the building on each external wall.
